The first Google logo was created by its founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin when at Stanford University.

The designer’s eighth proposal was chosen and used as the search engine’s official logo from May 1999 to May 2010.
The Kedar logo kept the colors (in a less saturated tonality), the shading of the letters was softer and more pleasant.
And also, the characters more stylized, using the “Catull” typeface.
From 2010 to 2013, they redesigned the logo, including some small changes: the letters gained a bit of volume, the shades of the colors changed, and eliminated the shadows, making the image flat.
In 2013, they eliminated the volume of the letters, and the colors acquired lighter tones.
Finally, in September 2015, the “Catull” typeface was replaced by a simpler one, the “sans serif,” to reflect the diversity of services offered by the company and adapting to all platforms.
With this typeface, the one that lasts to this day, the letters are more geometric, and the colors take on a more opaque and subdued tone.
